These dry aluminum silicates are reformed by hydrothermal process and kaolin is formed. This whole process is called kaolinisation. In this process feldspar is transfigured into Kaolinite and the other mineral like Quartz and Mica left unchanged. The presence of other minerals affects the color, brightness, glossiness, and opaqueness of kaolin mineral.
